EdTechProfile by the numbers - July 2007
Submitted by Gregg Legutki on Thu, 2007-07-12 15:03.
Region 10 RIMS CTAP is happy to announce that 55% of the schools in the
region reached or surpassed an 80% completion rate for EdTechProfile in the
2006 - 2007 school year.
542 schools worked hard to have teachers update their EdTechProfile accounts
between the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Formula Grant
(2005-2006) completion window 01/01/2006 - 06/30/2007. This resulted in 27
districts surpassing an 80% district-wide completion rate.
Current EdTechProfile results can be viewed for any school or district by
going to the California Department of Education DataQuest site
http://data.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/ and choosing either a School or District
level, then Technology for the subject.
EdTechProfile delivers the results for every teacher, school, and district,
in the entire State of California. With teacher self-assessments based upon
the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Standards (which are the
Standards of Quality and Effectiveness for Professional Teacher Induction
Programs), as well as surveys for students, principals and administrators,
educators have access to reports and information to help them:
* Evaluate and plan staff and professional development
* Support the management and consistency of state (EETT, AB430) and local
funding efforts
* Track program completion and compliance requirements
* Improve teacher technology adoption
New reports that were added to EdTechProfile this past school year included a
Tech Planning report to assist districts that are updating their District
Technology Plan. The report provides quick access to the data needed to
complete required sections of the district tech plan. It is necessary to have
district administrative rights to the EdTechProfile data to obtain this
report.
Also introduced this past year was the K-12 Voucher Report. This report gives
a snapshot view of a school site's current status. The report brings together
data from EdTechProfile, the California School Technology Survey, and CBEDS
reports. The site-based K-12 Voucher report is available to anyone who has an
EdTechProfile account. A link to it can be found near the bottom of the home
page after logging into an EdTechProfile account.
Again, congratulations to the schools reaching or surpassing 80% completion
on EdTechProfile. To view a complete list of the schools, see the article at
